Glenwood Dance Ministry

Glenwood Dance Ministry (GDM) was founded by Denine Carter and Suzanne Mathis in January 2004 when a small group of girls began dancing in their kitchen on a regular basis. This small group quickly grew to over fifty neighborhood children, boys and girls alike, at which point GDM began meeting at Grace Community Church. The program changed slightly in the Spring of 2006. Due to a lack of dance teachers, Denine and Suzanne decided to focus on a smaller group of teenage girls. The girls are learning to choreograph and become leaders of future GDM dances. GDM students have performed at a variety of events, including a "friendraiser" for Hannah's Haven (a substance abuse recovery home for women), a fundraiser for German missionaries Dave & Rachel Byers, and the 19th Anniversary Service at Grace Community Church.

** In January 2007, GDM will no longer have an adult sponsor. If you are interested in helping fill this void, please send us an email. Dance experience is of course helpful, but by no means required.

** March 2007 Update:  GDM is still in need of a teacher.  Please contact us via the link above if you are interested.
